Hi everyone EmpirewebInfo here and I wanted to show you how to install iOS 14 public betas it's now out to public beta testers and it's been out to developers for a couple of weeks and now they've released iOS 14 public beta 2 all supported devices so you'll need to have an iPhone 6s or newer.

So any of the supported devices that were supported with iOS 13 are supported with iOS 14 so you'll need that first of all and also you want to make a backup of your phone whether that be to iTunes or to iCloud now if you have an iCloud account and you want to back it up there just go to settings tap on your name then tap on iCloud scroll down until you see iCloud backup make sure it's turned on and then hit backup now as long as you have a backup you're good to go.

How to install iOS 14 public beta

You'll see this tells me that my last backup was quite some time ago so I'll want to back this up before updating now keep in mind once you update to iOS 14 the only way to downgrade back to iOS 13 is to actually use a computer so you'll need to use Windows or a Mac and downgrade doing it that way that is the best way to do it.

Now I have a separate video on how to do that so I'll link that in the description as well now once you have your backup ready to go and you want to install the public beta what you'll need to do is go to Safari and then go to apple.com/beta or beta Apple.com so either one will work you'll see I have it here once it's loaded you'll need to sign in or enroll if you're not already enrolled tap on the little down arrow here and you'll see you'll have the option to sign in or enroll your device once you tap on enroll your device and you're signed in it takes just a moment and then again it's going to tell you to back up your device scroll down until you get to install profile, tap on download profile

And it will say this website is trying to download a configuration profile do you want to allow this go ahead and tap allows then tap on close and then swipe up to go back home go to your settings and in your settings, you'll see toward the top it says profile downloaded tap on profile downloaded tap on installing your passcode then tap on install after you consent to the actual agreement.

How to install iOS 14 public beta

Here tap install again and then tap on done now go back and tap on software update now you should see iOS 14 public beta 2 once you install this you'll be good to go you can actually use the beta but you want to make sure you submit feedback if you're having issues with it so we'll tap on download and install again put in your passcode and then it will download now this will take a while to download and probably take a while to install in fact going from beta 1 - beta - on my main device took about an hour even though I have fast internet.

Now once you have iOS 14 installed like I have here on my main iPhone 11 pro max you'll get the same updates usually as I do with the developer betas at the same day or the following day up until the public release and so if you're having bugs or experiencing problems that are completely normal that's the point of beta testing is to find those bugs and report them to Apple using the feedback app so if you swipe over to find the feedback app now depending on where it is on your phone you'll have this sort of app library layout so it may be hard to find so just tap in the top here and type feedback go into the feedback app and once you're in the feedback app you can see things like requests recent activity all of the different submissions that I've done so if you need to submit new feedback just tap on new feedback submit the feedback that you have for the OS and what's going wrong be through and maybe Apple will follow up with you when they have a question.

And then you can send them more data so it's pretty simple and straightforward and it's great to use a beta but just keep in mind your battery life may not be that great from time to time and you also will have some problems because there are known issues so it gets better closer to release but that's how you install it if you want to uninstall it like I said I have a separate video on that but you will need a computer to do that so hopefully that helps you out if you want to install iOS 14 public betas and they should be ready to go on iPhone iPad and other devices as well if that's something you'd like to try out I'll link that website in the description below apple.com/beta or beta.apple.com and let me know if you've installed it or if you've had any other issues
